Application from Bagenalstown Community Groups

I recently submitted an application to the CCAP on behalf of three bagenalstown Community Groups; Bagenalstown Gaels, Bagenalstown AFC and Bagenalstown Community Garden. We intend to undertake the following works;

·      Installation of solar panels at Bagenalstown Gaels clubhouse

·      Installation of bicycle shelters at Bagenalstown Gaels and Bagenalstown AFC grounds

·      Upgrading of doors and windows at Bagenalstown AFC (as recommended in energy audit)

·      Investment in Bagenalstown Community Garden

If successful, the community groups can make a significant contribution to making Bagenalstown a more sustainable community and reducing our carbon footprint. The projects are also in line with the Register of Opportunities identified in the 2022 Bagenalstown Energy Master Plan. The application fell into the €20,000 to €50,000 funding category so wouyld represent a very sizeable investment in sustainability and helping Bagenalstown to become a carbon neutral community. The projects encompass renewable energy, active travel and food waste. The successful applicants will be announced in June/July. Fingers crossed.
